Design

With its finely chiselled exterior features, the GWM Steed 5E boasts a powerful presence. The front bumper features integrated fog lamps and a wider, hungry looking lower airdam that is neatly accentuated by twin chrome-finished strakes on either side. The narrow grille aperture, flanked by darkened headlamps, further boosts the sophisticated appearance.

But that's not all... when it comes to the Steed 5E, beauty truly resides in the details - notice the integrated indicators in the side mirrors and the aerial that has been embedded in the upper right-hand corner of the windscreen.

All Steed 5E models boast comprehensive colour coding, 16-inch alloy wheels and front and rear fog lamps. Flagship Xscape variants further add factory fit side steps and a rear roll bar.
Comfort and Entertainment

The Steed 5E's cabin boasts numerous comfort- and refinement-boosting enhancements, as well as beautifully detailed design features. Note the sophisticated piano-black trim on the facia, centre console and door panels. Leather padding extends to the doors and all the various hidey-holes have rubber matting to stop your valuables from rattling about.

The Steed 5E is available in two trim levels, SX and Xscape. The SX boasts a comprehensive standard specifications package that includes climate control, a radio with USB/Aux support, remote audio controls, electric windows/mirrors, heated rear window and rake-adjustable steering wheel.

In addition to the above, the flagship Xscape derivatives further add leather upholstery and a comprehensive, full-colour touch-screen audio system with USB/Aux, Bluetooth and SD card functionality.
Power and Economy

The Steed 5E is offered with two engine options, catering for a wide variety of needs. For the petrolheads out there, GWM's proven 2,4-litre (4G69) four-cylinder engine is on offer. It delivers 93 kW of power and 200 Nm torque. A slick five-speed manual transmission is employed to send power to the rear wheels. This 2,4-litre engine consumes 10,7 L/100 km on the combined cycle.

GWM's very popular and in-house developed 2,0-litre VGT (variable geometry turbo) diesel powerplant that punches out a strong 105 kW and 305 Nm of torque is also available. This engine is exclusively mated with a six-speed manual transmission. The 2,0-litre VGT engine boasts exceptionally low fuel consumption of only 8,3 L/100 km.

All Xscape models boast the added convenience of a rear differential lock.
Safety and Security

With a refined and luxurious Steed 5E, you'll always be eager to explore new destinations with friends and family. Safety is therefore a high priority. GWM has equipped the Steed 5E with a comprehensive safety package that includes dual front airbags and ABS with EBD. Furthermore, all Steed 5E models feature fog lamps to boost visibility during poor weather conditions and adjustable safety belts. Rear door child locks are also standard. Xscape models further add tyre pressure monitoring and an automatically dimming rear-view mirror.

To make sure your pride and joy doesn't find a new owner without your consent, central locking and an immobiliser are standard fitment.
